Tbf I wasn’t clear, I meant the computer as a network box. When we use the tv and want to watch a stored video, as long as the computer is on the media is accessible.

I you are the only one using it then yes that is enough. But lots of people have families. And everybody wants to watch something else.

I have a family, people can watch different things at the same time just fine
