I find the distinction between moderation and censorship helpful.
I'm more sympathetic to censorship than the author--I've seen what e.g. vaccine misinformation can do to radicalize the average person.
One valuable tool the author doesn't spend much time on is defaults. We can have a heavily moderated, uncensored platform which still prevents mis/disinformation for the vast majority of users. E.g. HN hides all sorts of nonsense by default, but still allows you to reveal it with showdead. The same folks who are prone to disinformation are often too unsophisticated to dig into their settings, and having only a single "showdead" filter means you not only see your favorite Lizard People posts, you also get inundated with all the other nonsense.
