Build vs. buy your admin panel during YC

Disclaimer: I'm the founder of Forest Admin (https://www.forestadmin.com) and we provide a SaaS admin panel solution.

3 months at Y Combinator is a short amount of time to build both a customer facing app as well as the admin panel that will support your business at scale. Who would prefer relying on an off-the-shelf (or low code) solution to save time?

I can't speak for YC companies, but I can say that the Enterprise software crowd falls 100% on "buy" for such questions.

Buy vs. build is often presented as a significant dilemma, but most places come up with the same answer - you build software when it is directly related to your unique value prop in the market, and you buy everything else.

Is it a saas or on-prem solution? I'd be interested in a tool like this, but infosec is going to have some concerns about data security and privacy.

SaaS frontend + on-prem backend (open-source)

Data transits through the on-prem backend hosted on your servers to your end-user browser, while remaining invisible to our Forest Admin servers.

It's actually both. If you want to wrap your head around it, you can read this article (https://bit.ly/ForestAdmin-architecture).
