Funny thing. No need for drama. Just give people education and a wage, and a grind, and populations will go down on their own. While we pretend that the value of money still means something.
Thats a skill issue. Maintainers can get through a whole lot more than ever before because they can review PR much faster. Thats great for velocity. Features still need that expert touch since no software system is simple but it is getting easier.
On the videogen, one would expect small, scrappy studios to get some tools to get further on their projects. What one has observed is that it is the large behemoths that are overzealous in their use of AI tools, despite the fact that they can produce work, have the budget and expertise to make it happen.
That got a giggle out of me. Not entirely relevant but AI tends to be overzealous in its use of emojis and punctuation, in a way people almost never do (too cumbersome on desktop where majority of typing work is done)
A big part of their success today is embracing globalism, beginning with the Westernization effort in the Meiji era and continuing into the present era with top Japanese firms becoming multinational, eg Nintendo/Sony of America, Toyota opening plants in the US, etc.
Communism, on the other hand, seems to have led to more isolation in the Cold War era, and is also another way to cultivate some interesting cultural identity, although not necessarily the culture you want.
