IMO just rename the hardware iTV instead, I assume they were holding back this name because back in the original cinema display days there was a rumor that they were making something more like a TV sized imac.
If you want to visit, you need to generally avoid late July (but check the schedule).
There are two huge boat races that end at the island - the Bayview Mac [1] and the Chicago Mac [2]. They run on successive weekends, alternating which goes first.
The island is completely overrun with sailing-related stuff during that time. Unless you’re involved, it is not a pleasant time.
Most of the trains north between Preston and Glasgow were being cancelled that day due to the weather. Perhaps knowing they only had one more attempt at landing safely left, Manchester further south seemed like the better bet.
> The correct long term answer is that we have to have her name changed legally
Are you sure?
SSA has administrative offices that deal with data errors. Generally in a GSA high rise in a big city. NOT the offices where you go to get benefits.
Someone doing data entry for the SSA fat fingered some info about me back when I was born, and I only found out in the 2010s thanks to the IRS rejecting a tax filing (I had to pay a 50 cent late fee!!!).
Went in-person to their office in the Metcalfe Federal Building in Chicago and the lady spent a few minutes examining documents, typed on her computer for about 20 seconds, and that was that. All fixed.
No not necessarily. But it might be more cost effective to get the deutschland ticket if you can still get one for this month. (You don't have to get it from DB, some allow cancellation much later.)
Ticket sales are generally quite straight forward with DB online and the area tickets are usually a good value compared to local tickets.
D-Ticket is a subscription only sold for calendar months. The basic terms are set by law, but some sellers have more generous terms, that is allowed. You need to cancel before the 10th of the current month in order not having to pay for the next month. If you buy after the 10th you are charged for 2 months right away. Most sellers require a German bank account, but e.g. HVV supports Paypal (worked for me) and in theory credit cards (did not work for me). I don't know any seller that accepts cancellations after the 10th, but I have heard a couple should exist.
That's not the case with [1], for example. They allow pausing (and then canceling) the subscription any time before the last day of the month. It works as advertised in my experience.
[2] seems to be offering the same, but I haven't tried it myself. [3] looks interesting too.
See, this is not making me feel good about the deutchland ticket.
My understanding is that the Bavarian day ticket can still be purchased as a piece of paper from a kiosk at the station and we would print our names on it (2 adults, 3 kids). This seems so much easier than worrying about starting and stopping a subscription!
> prosecute Google for fraudulently marketing Android as open and force them to keep their promise.
Sorry man. The EU Cyber Resilience Act is forcing these changes. An operating system is a class 1 important product. A tamper-resistant microchip is a class 2 important product. A device with a secure element is a critical product. Your smartphone has all of these pieces. Manufactures must follow a list of best practices to enjoy a presumption of conformity. That list of best practices is being compiled and made ready for publication, with full effect in 2026/2027. Google knows what is coming. Everyone big knows what’s coming.
True open source with no monetization can get a pass. Everyone else has to do this.
Even if the idea originally came from the EU, the fact that Google is rolling it out worldwide would seem to indicate that they already wanted to do this, no? And regardless of whether they wanted to or not (inside the EU), it does not invalidate criticism of the move from outside of the EU.
If Anglo-Protestant is the target group, why make the Civil War the dividing line? In the decades leading up to the Civil War, the vast majority of [European] immigration was from Catholic countries. Or am I mistaken?
Ties are allowed, but only in very special circumstances. If for some reason they can’t keep playing, the game is supposed to be suspended and then restarted at a later date. But if it’s the last time the two teams play each other in the season and the playoff tiebreaker rules aren’t an issue, they just end the game in a tie. It doesn’t show up in the standings, so you probably didn’t even realize it happens! The player stats count, however.
The last tie in baseball was in 2016 - Cubs vs Pirates. The game ended in the 6th inning due to rain.
You should have no trouble finding it used for single-digit dollars. If you decide to get it, read the first and last chapters. Like, actually read them. They are the chapters that don’t have any design patterns in them, so pretty much nobody reads them. But you should. Whether or not you study any of the design patterns in the book is up to you. They don’t really apply to a lot of things people are doing these days.
