Kurzweil predicts that, thanks to exponential progress, by 2025 we’ll have 100% renewable energy (and a grid to go with it) and then 2045 is the Singularity. AIs will be at human-level brain intelligence next year. We’ll be able to stop, and then reverse aging, within 5 years.
Kurzweil comes across as an old man, slow to respond to Rogan’s rapid-fire and well-informed questions.
"Direct-to-consumer (DTC) laboratory tests are increasingly available to consumers with minimal or no involvement from health care professionals". Why are tests bad but, say, medical books are okay? Or maybe these people would ban medical books too if they could?
While they certainly have a lot more staff than feared (2700 when they said that 90% left) and I think they can probably keep it up mostly ok (there are already bugs) I'm curious where that leaves feature delivery. We've already had blue checks pushed back to November 29th, and now it's pushed back indefinitely. Encrypted DM's may be easier, but I wonder if there are spam/harassment and all sorts of other unknown implications.
