The SSA released updated historical name data covering from 1880-2024. usBabyNames.js is a convenient wrapper for those resources, repackaging the original text file distribution into a sqlite db for easy consumption. Slice and dice the names how you like... spot trends, oddities, etc...
He doesn't have this power, but he declared a "national emergency" and put out an edict.
Legislators are supposed to review this and revoke it (and impeach him for abuse of powers), but Republicans are capitulating, ergo nothing can be done until someone with standing sues and it reaches the Supreme Court.
Then we have to assume they will rule it is unconstitutional, despite half of them being installed by him, and that he will listen to them.
That backs up exactly what I said? The president has declared a national emergency and started to use emergency powers. Legislation is supposed to review those actions now.
And it's not just tariffs, he's abusing this for a dearth of other topics. Want to cut down national forests? Nation lumber emergency. Want to mass deport people to an El Salvador prison without due process? National emergency.
I mean, that's emergency powers for you? They've always been reached for by the wannabe dictator. It's why they tend to be best implemented with tight timeboxing or oversight.
I know, that's exactly why I wrote "historic", but the current owners gave him an enormous amount of money, didn't clean up their act, and GoDaddy CONTINUES to be terrible.
The security breach we're discussing didn't happen 14 years ago, as you well know. They have a long and infamous track record and toxic corporate culture and unethical business practices and willfully misleading negligence of security that show no signs of improving.
So charming that you're on such a familiar first name basis with a piece of shit like Bob Parsons. Are you friends? Are you actually carrying the water for GoDaddy, or think it's ok to murder elephants and run incredibly sexist commercials while never giving a shit about security or customers? Yuck.
I don't know how serious you are, but for others projects like this are virtually never a waste of time. There's opportunity cost of course, but that's very difficult to measure. I'm sure OP learned a ton about PDFs in the process, and there is/are no shortage of needs for PDF creation. More broadly they also deepened their knowledge of javascript and other things.
Ownership hasn't changed. They finally responded and said there was some suspicious activity on my account so they put the domains on hold and wanted me to verify my identity. Haven't heard anything back since I sent them what they wanted. They're just taking their sweet time with this while all of my services are still down. No apologies or anything.
I might be wrong, but truly believe that you're another victim of bad implemented AI. Something triggered a bad switch, probably due to buying too many domains in such a small ammount of time? Like if you were using the domains for spam or something. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Thank you, I appreciate that. Unfortunately no update since I sent them the verification they requested yesterday. Still locked out 3 days later. Just trying to do some damage control at this point. I'll keep this post updated if I hear anything new.
