Due to noise constraints supersonic flight is banned over land right now. If they lower noise pollution maybe laws will be changed.

GBTC has no redemption mechanism, you can wrap more BTC into GBTC but not the other way around. For ETFs this is what solves the arb. You can do your arb but you still need to offload GBTC at some point and the only option is to another buyer of GBTC.

There's a big difference between AWS Aurora and AWS RDS PG. Both are managed services.

Amazon supports PG 12 and 13 is in beta. Aurora is Amazon's fork of Postgres which has different storage and replication so will always be behind.

A year doesn't sound too bad I think MySQL 8 has been generally available since april 2018 from Oracle

Honestly I don't know if they're even working on MySQL 8 for Aurora MySQL

Huawei 5G CPE Pro (if you don't mind Huawei) has good reviews, has ethernet and you can use external 5G antennas.

On the way back unfortunately you have to stop in Brussels because Amsterdam/Rotterdam do not have passport control for departure.

Happy with 1G Hyperoptic too. There's IPV6 or £5/month if you want your own IPv4 otherwise it's CGNAT.

I have no problems with a gigabit symmetrical line on ERLite-3. UniFi Security Gateway is the same hardware but in a nicer interface that works with UniFi APs & Switches if you want to go that route but you have to also host a controller. You can also upgrade to a ER-4 for a much faster CPU but I don't think you need to.

Envoy | All types of software engineering jobs | San Francisco, CA and distributed | Full-time | https://envoy.com

We're on a mission to create the office of the future and visitor management is just the beginning. We already launched our second product (Deliveries).

We’re building a world where you know instantly when packages are delivered; where your office unlocks securely and automatically when you arrive; where you can book a meeting room simply by walking through the door.

We have 1/3rd of our team working full-time remotely but continental US time zones are preferred so we can easily collaborate.

Our stack is built on Ruby&Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elixir, JavaScript (Ember, React Native), and a few more things. We’re currently hosted on Heroku with some AWS (mostly Lambda) though we are constantly reevaluating as we scale.

We value being a top-notch organization with a strong engineering-driven culture, and have the same high standards with our code, systems, and people. We value learning and growth (and not being bored) and hire diverse, well-rounded, communicative people we can envision being friends with and trusting.

You can get more info on our jobs page https://envoy.com/jobs/ Or just apply to https://goo.gl/GEy3JE and we’ll make sure to get back to you.

Are all the positions remote compatible? It's unclear from the jobs page. Thanks.

We're open for remote engineers/data scientists, not quite all the positions unfortunately.

Is remote a possibility for everyone or for people living in the US?

We're open to people outside the US (and we have a few) but as mentioned we're looking for people with a high overlap with PST for easier collaboration.

Applied last week and didn't hear back...how long does it usually take for you to go through applications?

Typically a day, though we're getting a lot of interest and are a little backed up as a result. Bear with us!

Understandable, is the timeline now more like a month?

Join us for AI Startup School this June 16-17 in San Francisco!
