Plasmic is a visual builder that plugs into React and other codebases. We aim to lower the barriers for anyone to create software, but our initial wedge is the headless content management market.
We are an early-stage startup with a tiny but wonderful distributed team of 10 from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, MIT, Berkeley, including 3 ex-founders with exits and 4 ICPC world finalists. We are well-funded by NEA and investors in Figma/Framer.
We are looking for a Founding Developer Advocate to help us grow a community of developers, especially in the React, headless commerce, and Jamstack spheres.
This is a critically important leadership role for our company, as the majority of the team is now shifting focus onto growth.
Responsibilities include:
∙ Authoring and launching high-quality content and educational resources that are truly interesting or valuable to our communities (not about Plasmic).
∙ Participating in existing React/web development communities and open-source projects, and building relationships there.
∙ Creating example projects, documentation, and screencasts to showcase what you can create with Plasmic and its tools/API.
∙ Owning our general online presence and driving engagement on venues like Twitter and GitHub.
∙ Potentially creating and launching our own open-source projects.
∙ Speaking at conferences.
∙ Work closely with the founding team to define the overarching growth strategy. You'll be telling us what the above list should look like!
We are prepared to invest heavily in this role. Compensation includes competitive cash salary and generous equity.
If this sounds interesting, please get in touch at hiring+hn@plasmic.app. We would love to meet you!

Plasmic | Multiple Roles (Founding Developer Advocate, Head of Growth) | Remote | Full Time
Plasmic (https://www.plasmic.app) is a visual page/frontend builder that plugs into production codebases.
We are an early-stage startup with a tiny but wonderful distributed team of 8 from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, MIT, Berkeley, including 3 ex-founders with exits and 4 ICPC world finalists. We are well-funded by NEA and investors in Figma/Framer.
We already have paying customers including a Fortune 500. But it’s still early and we have many challenges ahead!
We are looking primarily for a Founding Developer Advocate to help us build a community of developers, especially in the React, headless commerce, and Jamstack spheres. Responsibilities include:
- Launching open-source projects and educational resources that are truly valuable to these communities.
- Participating in existing open-source communities and building relationships there.
- Creating example projects to showcase what you can build with our tools and API.
- Amplifying documentation, looking for the right examples, messaging and languages for audiences served.
- Writing articles, engaging on social media, recording screencast demos, and speaking at conferences.

Plasmic | Multiple Roles (Software Engineer, Developer Relations, Head of Growth) | Remote | Full Time
Plasmic (https://www.plasmic.app) is a visual page/frontend builder that integrates with real-world production codebases.
We are an early-stage startup with a tiny but wonderful distributed team of 8 from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, MIT, Berkeley, including 3 ex-founders with exits and 4 ICPC world finalists. We received outlier funding offers from a number of top VCs like NEA and investors in Figma/Framer.
We have paying customers including a Fortune 500. But it’s still early and we have many challenges ahead!
Plasmic itself is a sprawling application with complex state and interactions, where users can spend hours per session. We face many deep engineering challenges, such as:
- building a robust, performant, and feature-packed design tool on the web
- enabling existing code components to be seamlessly used in the editor
- optimizing for latency in all interactions, even when scaling to large projects
- translating free-form vector graphics from tools like Figma/XD to web standards
- handling dynamic data in the visual editor
We’re looking for one more generalist software engineer to join as a member of the formative team. You would be directly shaping the product and its future direction. You don’t need to be specialized in frontend; more important to us are software engineering foundations and experience.
We are also starting our search for a devrel role and head of growth role.
If this sounds interesting, please get in touch at hiring+hn@plasmic.app. We would love to meet you!

Plasmic | Product Designer, Software Engineer | Remote | Full Time
Plasmic (https://www.plasmic.app) is a new visual frontend builder / design tool that integrates with real-world production codebases.
We are an early-stage startup with a tiny but wonderful distributed team from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, MIT, Berkeley, including 3 ex-founders with exits and a couple of ICPC world finalists. We received outlier funding offers from a number of top VCs like NEA and investors in Figma/Framer.
PRODUCT DESIGNER ROLE
Our biggest focus is on our design challenges—we want to make frontend development as broadly accessible as possible. As such we are looking for a senior product designer to join as a member of the formative team. You would be directly shaping the product and its future direction.
Plasmic is a highly interactive tool where users can spend many hours per session. It has an expansive interaction surface area and many deep design challenges, from nitty-gritty interaction design questions like "How should selection work?" to high-level product decisions like "How should dynamic data work?" and "How should users design components in multiple states?"
The role is primarily focused on these conceptual design challenges. You can expect to spend less of your time on visual design and more on thinking through / writing up design docs, as well as making / playtesting prototypes. Background in coding is a plus but not a requirement.
SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE
Plasmic is a sprawling application with complex state and interactions, where users can spend hours per session. We face many deep engineering challenges, such as:
- building a robust, performant, and feature-packed design tool on the web
- deep integration with arbitrary codebases
- enabling existing code components to be seamlessly used in the editor, including mining out examples of how to use them
- optimizing for latency in all interactions, even when scaling to large projects

We are an early stage software startup funded by NEA and other esteemed investors. We are creating a visual builder for React - something that is as easy to use as a design tool like Sketch/Figma (which you can also import from!) but builds production-ready React components. We want to fix design/development collaboration and simplify product development.
We have an intimate team of 5 (tech leads from Google, Microsoft, Facebook), of which 3 have PhDs (MIT, UW), and 3 have previously launched successful startups.
We're looking for another engineer to join the core team. The only skill requirement is React, but generally we are seeking engineers with at least a couple years of experience. Background in building complex tools, deep frontend work, compilers, or distributed systems are pluses!
If you're interested, please let us know - we would love to hear from you! hiring@plasmic.app
