YNAB. But the old version, not the new subscription based service. I've been using it for years now. It's budgeting system really helped to turn my money management skills around. I was crap with cash before I started using it.

Thanks for this. My pensioner mother came back from the doctors yesterday with a chest infection, on top of this she has mild bronchitis. I've just sent her this exercises as I'm hoping it might improve her lung health. Although i did send her this one which is a bit easier: https://youtu.be/0BNejY1e9ik But thanks for posting it, I never knew about this method. Just tried it myself and it rocks.

Wow, I can't thank you enough for posting this. I've been struggling with hypertension and anxiety for a very long time. I just tried the beginner exercise and couldn't believe the effect.

Not only could I hold my breath for longer then I was ever able to on my first try but also I felt relaxed and happy at the end of the exercise.

Thank you!!!

If you're looking for something to drink nearly 0 calories try lemon water. Just buy a bunch of lemons, and cut and squeeze them into some cool water when you want a drink. Simple, cheap and refreshing. I drink gallons of the stuff. It helped me to cut down my soda consumption and it's way better for quenching your thirst

My dentist told me to stop doing that, bad for teeth...

I love stuff like this. Thanks to the OP for suggesting this podcast, i'll be adding it to pocket casts.

As for history podcast suggestions, there are many decent podcasts for specifics historical eras or events. Here's a few of my favourites:

https://thehistoryofbyzantium.com/

https://thehistoryofrome.typepad.com/revolutions_podcast/

and old one but still an excellent:

https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-history-of-rome/id...

I have more on my phone, but they're specific to UK history (where i live).

I've not listened to first two in a while as I'm listen to a lot of history books via audible. But I've listened to the first 100 episodes of the Byzantium podcast and the Russian Revolution episodes in the Revolutions Podcast - both are really well researched and produced.

If any one loves listening to things about the rise/decline of civs I can recommend the audio book version of Oswald Spenglers Decline of the West:

https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/The-Decline-of-the-West-Audiobo...

I plan to read the book version at some point but it's a bit of a tomb. So thought I'd approach it via the audio book first to get a better idea of the main concepts before reading it.

And i'm currently reading Arnold J. Toynbee - A Study of History, which is a fascinating look at the rise and fall of civs. It adds a different point of view to Spenglers theory and work.

Have you considered Jriver cloudplay: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Cloudplay It's not free but Jriver is a pretty good media player for local files. The one downside of Jriver is their android/apple apps are a bit crap, but there are 3rd party alternatives.

I'd recommend also check out John David Ebert's Youtube series on the 4 gospels of Gilgamesh: https://www.youtube.com/user/johndavidebert/search?query=gil...

If you like this sort of stuff then I recommend his channel as he has some excellent lectures on history, important history/religious books, and other stuff.

His video series on "The Evolution of Death & Burial" is very interesting.

I've just watched that recently and it was bloody brilliant. One of the best mini series ever

They used to say the same thing about motion pictures last century: https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1300&dat=19131008&id=...

I remember reading that quite a lot of people didn't like Elvis too for his provocative dancing and believed he'd have a corrupting influence on the youth of the time.

In retrospect these things didn't turn out to be so bad after all.

I was Googling your suggestions and found out that Richard Hamming has series of lectures on Youtube. I'm two hours into them and they're excellent. Thanks for your suggestion. Here's the link for anyone else who might be interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hhXS6cODQg&list=PLctkxgWNSR...

Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage to the Antarctic - Name says it all. Shows what people can endure when pushed to the limits. If the story wasn't true you wouldn't believe it happened. After reading it you'll never moan about being cold or hungry again
