Theoretically possible doesn't mean we're capable of doing it. Like, it's easy to say "I'm gonna boil the ocean" and another thing for you personally to succeed at it while on a specific beach with the contents of several Home Depots.
Humans tend to vastly underestimate scale and complexity.
I don't see why the majority of engineers need to cater to your niche use cases. It's a programming language, you can just make the library if it doesn't exist. Nobody's stopping you.
Plus, plenty of third party projects have been incorporated into the Python standard library.
Obviously men are people and therefore can vary, but a lot of them rely on women to be their sole source of emotional connection. Women tend to have more and closer friends and just aren't as lonely or desperate.
A lot of dudes are pretty awful to women in general, and dating apps are full of that sort. Add in the risks of meeting strange men, and it's not hard to see why a lot of women go "eh" and hang out with friends instead.
Personally, living with two T1D ( type 1 insulin dependent diabetic, the autoimmune disease not to be confused with the i am old, fat and over eat disorder) when your blood sugar is too high or low , you act weird , you are in a fog . Long term effects of the swings and sustained levels cause brain damage, not necessarily traumatic brain injuries but damage nonetheless.
So i can see the correlation for T1D and undiagnosed T2D cases Alzheimers. Now having a parent with both T2D and Alzheimers when they were taking rebelsis there was a change in their overall mood and activity , but i saw the change was "hey your sugar is under control, and no i am not your buddy from the army" . To be clear the difference is the fog of being unclear about what's going on like you're drunk , vs the grand delusions of seeing a different person that's not there .
This should have been obvious for the researchers.
weev is not some dude with "not-nice" views. He's a sociopath who, among other things, threatened Kathy Sierra with rape and murder and published her address to his online fans to do the same. He would put her address on Craigslist and claim she was a sex worker.
I'm sorry, but if you _actually_ think about it, your whole premise is ridiculous.
We'll put aside the obvious fact that drug researchers are, you know, people who presumably got into the industry to help people, which includes themselves and their families.
We'll also put aside the fact that drugs go out of patent relatively quickly, and they'd just lose out to generics. Like they do now.
The simple truth is they don't need to manufacture more clients, because a stream already exists. There are always new people developing new diseases and new issues. There's an incentive to come up with new and better tools to pull money away from generics.
Don't fall prey to paranoid thinking, actually think about it.
Of course poor folks know how bad payday lenders are. They're poor, not stupid. They use them because they live on razor-thin margins and life happens.
Poor folks generally manage their money down to the dollar. They have to, or they'll be out on the street.
All of the things you mentioned are middle-class problems and have nothing to do with the horrific grind that is being poor.
