Seems like a mistake not to be a sensor maximalist. Why not try and get as many data streams onboard as possible. Seems like the generalized robot OS would be better if it was a data fusion platform.

That’s a good point. I coming from the perspective that waymo is more of a “dead reckoning” approach compared to Tesla long(and maybe never ending) road.

it's surprising that Oracle doesn't see that it has become it's own risk. sure they have a lot of legacy lock in, but who in this day and age is making the choice to buy Oracle.

Yeah surprised they haven't released a paid product to block other Oracle products.

They make enough sales, so it's obvious from the evidence that their strategy isn't hurting them.

True... they're going to squeeze every last cent out of it

Government.

There's a lot of make work out there. And AI does help. Just today it got me out a self made jam with sqlalchemy. But it's not the panacea that the entertainment financial reports make it out to be.

I currently work for a research oriented organization. The incentive structures for the research staff, firstly atomize the staff and secondly directly work against the organization goals of being able to get impactful things done.

Or try, no booze, lose a bit of weight, increase cardio activity and sleep on your side. This works pretty well for obstructive but sadly not central apnea.

OSA is not always positional. Further, there are patients with normal BMI who also don't drink.

While I agree with you and have done this myself, if you're going to make lifestyle change recommendations, at least spell "lose" correctly ;)

I went from ~220 lbs/100 kg to ~160 lbs/ 73 kg. I had to dial back my CPAP over time and eventually switched to a mouth guard which can treat both OSA and TMD.

I suspect I've had apnea since I was a kid, and that was when I was swimming 9x a week and doing swim comps all the time.

Some people just have fat tongues (Ladies, 1 at a time please!) unfortunately

Central apnea is where your brain actively decides it doesn't want to breathe anymore? Nice..

Any way to discern one from another?

A sleep study. Central and obstructive sleep apnea aren't mutually exclusive, either.

Thankfully, ABS has those stats for you. https://dbr.abs.gov.au/region.html?lyr=sa2&rgn=106031124

I remember suggesting during the VW emissions scandal that we needed something like a corporate guillotine to execute companies of scale that were involved in serious crime. Not just a change out of directors, but wholesale breakup.

But you know, just a person on the internet yelling into the void...

They jailed the engineer, all working as expected

Someone said "Speaking truth to power isn't just shouting into the cannons"

There's very little advantage IMO. I've used both. I always end up back at Nginx. Traefik was just another configuration layer that got in the way of things.

Traefik is waaay simpler - 0 config, just use docker container labels. There is absolutely no reason to use nginx these days.

I should know, as I spent years building and maintaining a production ingress controller for nginx at scale, and I'd choose Traefik every day over that.

Anything made of cheap plastic, like all kids toys and lower end electronics. Anything you wouldn't really pay double for.

The Bloomberg podcast odd lots recently had an episode about this. Essentially, there's bubbles in the pipeline now. Expect Halloween and the shopping around that time to feature lots of scarcity.
