Intelligence as a new fundamental layer! These small programs that do so much really inspire me.

This is the tech equivalent of ‘my year of rest and relaxation’, enjoyable to read with talk of sports and projects. I think I will try this after my current job runs its course.

Looks really good and seems fast. My guess would be that this effect needs to be 99% or else people will notice something / although they may not be sure exactly what.

The best part of the world is actually each other.

Not sure what the point of this is. Every company I’ve worked at stores everything in notion. Managers and ops people keep it up to date and organize processes in there.

IDE support is definitely one area where DuckDB could be better. My current workflow is to edit SQL files in VS Code and then use ‘.read’ within the DuckDB CLI.

I don't use DuckDB but I use the community version of DBeaver for SQL - looks like it supports DuckDB too[0]

Keep an eye on this link. New support is being added every so often.

Yes we have added there as well the PR is merged

Same here. You have Harlequin which is worth a try, but ideally I would just write and execute in vscode.

Blocking any .ai domain seems completely off the mark. I thought this would be sites which have obviously AI generated content.

These are a bunch of neo-Luddites. AI is just a tool, and isn't much different than photoshop. They're afraid of applied mathematics.

From their blocklist source:

> Going NUCLEAR!!! (sites that have a lot of AI "art"/heavily support AI "art", but also have some authentic artwork;)

This is so ignorant of how these tools are actually being employed.

I'm actually fine with them removing themselves from the community. The fewer complaints we'll hear.

This, however (also from their blocklist source), is concerning:

> Gross nudify sites/deepfakes/porn (why isn't this illegal?!?!)

While I think generating porn of people is weird and potentially abusive, these people seeking to constrain thought and free speech are outright scary. Far scarier than any imagined breasts or penises.

Imagine how far down that slippery slope we'll slide if these people start to have their way.

Where were these people complaining about Beeple's Trump nudes? (I'm not trying to be political - I'm just stating that all of a sudden AI has people wanting to constrain free speech.)

The media narrative of "AI scary" is winning, and the politicians can and will use that to control us more.

Also commuting around this :) Looks to be very successful. I wonder how many tests the ship can pass in orbit.

Super cool. Embedded camera software is tough. Number one issue when I worked on it was dropping frames. You have 10 ms or so to get the frame to the next I/O stage - for example for streaming - and a lot has to happen. Double the challenge for stereo cameras.

Just from experience in the cloud industry, Microsoft is really successful within Europe, potentially more so than in America. I think this partnership will be really successful.
