Trump Reportedly Offering Putin Natural Resources Off Alaska (newsweek.com)

That is truly insane. Why should America give up resources for a conflict that it isn’t directly a part of? How does that serve American interests? The only offers that make sense are negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Things like NATO membership or control of Crimea. It looks the art of the deal is just code for desperate and random chaos.

Given how:

- a lot of cease fires, reduction of Intel and similar happened to often come at maximal bad timing for the UK

- various "money saving actions" seem to directly hurt US cyber defense

- and military

- and internal stability

- and economy

- and trust from allies

- and military cooperation with allies

in ways which go beyond any reasonable "this could have worked out" or "this might long term be good" makes it really look like Trump isn't fighting for the US but against it

or (more realistic) he is just kinda incompetent (in geo politics, etc., not saying he is dumb); Badly consulted by some truly heinous people, some with conflicting goals; And probably corrupt; And maybe Russia can black mail him; And he spend all his live wiggling himself to success, which doesn't work when doing geo-politics with Russia;

There are upper limits to incompetence.

Alaska is a euphemisms - for greenland. They plan too jump denmark together. Its Ribbentrop o clock.

Such a spineless loser.

Trump and his followers have repeatedly proclaimed that Trump is tough and drives a hard bargain.

But he's in fact weak and spineless.

Truly amazing.

The first thing strongmen do is kill off anybody competent who might threaten their rule at some point in the future. From there on in it is just a matter of time before the whole thing unravels but they can do a shitload of damage to their country and if the country is large enough to the rest of the world as well.

That describes pretty much all 'strongman' dictators, really. Particularly the paranoia thing is all but universal.
