Although I live in a place where weed is legal, I don’t use it. I enjoy the occasional glass of a nice scotch, though, and I love a good stout or porter beer. This is where it gets a little strange for me: by every metric I can think of, I’d be better off replacing alcohol with weed. There seem to be fewer negative effects, it’s not a source of empty calories, and looks like a better recreational drug in every way.
And still, growing up with “Just Say No”, I can’t quite bring myself to. In the back of my mind, a little voice asks if that’s the example I want to set for my kids, which is silly when they’ve seen me (responsibly) using alcohol for years. I just can’t imagine using a vape or popping an edible in the same way I might pour a little glass of whisky before settling down for the evening.
Long time customer of their backup product, and I'm considering B2 for an upcoming project as a result. They seem to be good at doing what they do, which is always great to see :) Especially great to see an IPO from a company that isn't exploiting privacy, or gig workers, and instead simply providing a great service.
it seems that the new issues are going to operate on the basis of labels (as it should). Scoped/Nested labels are a godsend. For example, I can tag an issue with a label "UI::App::Android" and i should be able to filter on the basis of "UI::App" and get all issues.
Cheapest but toughest way is SBA [0] Financing through traditional banks. You get the lowest interest rates (usually Prime + 1-2% extra) with upto 10 years of payment term. The problem is that it can take 2-3 months with tons of documentation and a personal guarantee if you are small. I have some experience with this for our own SAAS so happy to share more if needed.
I wouldn't rule SBA backed loans out because the more expensive options may give you capital faster but you pay a lot more premium. And when I say "lot more", I mean "a hell of a lot more premium"..
Nice work - seems like more and more people are using Notion to publish their own little websites. There are a few custom solutions that attempt to fix the problems that the author outlined, such as custom URLs and styling:
I also built my own solution which takes a different approach: https://github.com/leoncvlt/loconotion - it caches the Notion page as a static site - admittedly you lose the capability of "syncing" sites instantly but is also makes the site snappier and more responsive as it removes a lot of bloat.
